As an Elementary Education major in college I was struck with
a near fatal pregnancy, and birth. After beating the odds and
delievering a four pound little girl two months early, I knew that
no woman should ever have to go through what I went through.
Looking back I wish I would have had someone their to coach
me, to explain things more, to just be there with knowledge and
experience to get me through what should have been the most
amazing part of a women's life. Afterwards I felt like I had to
get the word out and help make a difference to pregnant
women, so I turned to Childbirth International and recieved my
Doula certification. Today my daughter is a healthy three year
old, and I will be graduating with a degree in Psychology, and
am a Certified Doula. I have every hope to help out women
pre-nately, during labor/birth, and post-partum to achieve the
best pregnancy and birth experience that they can hold close to
their heart forever.
I teach Breastfeeding 101 as well as breastfeeding, and
pregnancy/birth consultations. I am willing to help assist
mothers to prepare for VBAC's and hold a monthly
breastfeeding support group I am a member of ICAN
(Washington County Chapter) and area Doula groups.
